My daughter has improved enormously on a specific protocol of supplements, detoxification, and gf/cf, soy free, glutamate free, low sugar diet. It is not idiopathic as she regressed after 165 mcg of thimerosal. She is now being treated for toxic encephalopathy, gut dysbiosis, an inability to excrete heavy metals, immune dysfunction, and food intolerances.
I see nothing on this site about many autistic children having immune and gut dysfunction, nor any studies about inflammation at all.

Thank you for writing in. I am responding now as the site creator.
I think your points are valid. We plan to limit the scope of this site, however, to autism therapies. As you know, there is a tremendous amount of literature about causes of autism as well as the best ways of diagnosisng autism and Asperger's. We just couldn't handle taking everything on at once.
I think it would be fabulous if you would add more about the protocol that you found to be so successful for your child. Would you consider creating a wiki entry.?Again, please focus on the details of the therapy protocol and the effects that you noticed when your child was put on the protocol. I believe that this information will be quite useful to parents.
We will have many new therapy summaries posted soon. They are in the final stages of review right now. These include Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, gluten-free diet, and casein-free diet. And, of course we will be working on others. FInally check back daily and you will see that we are summarizing current literature as it is being published.
