Animal Assistants Play Role in Healing and Recovery

Specially trained animals are used for therapy at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters Health Center in Newport News, VA. The dogs and other "critters" motivate children with autism and other developmental disorders.

Studies have shown that using animals in therapy can help lower blood pressure, anxiety, and improve coordination.
