EC Cares (Lane County, OR) early intervention program provides services with no waiting list; from phone call to first screening is approximately one week. A five-year study begun in 1998 monitored children with autism from early intervention into elementary school. Ninety-one percent of those children increased their communication skills, cognitive development, and social interactions.
