The Bankbridge Development Center, in NJ, is the first school in Gloucester County specifically designed for children, ages 3-21, with autism. The 200-seat school is equipped with rooms designed to minimize "distractions to light, sound and touch. Every room also has an observation area attached so teachers and parents can monitor the students' progress." There are private rooms for speech and occupational therapy. In addition, the school will provide parent/caregiver support and after school programming.
