Three years ago, we highlighted Michala Riggle and her foundation, Beading to Beat Autism. Riggle was raising money for autism research by selling hand-made beaded bracelets. Over the years, she has raised half a million dollars in honor of her brother with autism, but she’s ready to go to the next level. Riggle started Campaign 7 to get her Kentucky neighbors to each pledge $7 a month for a year. The purpose? To buy land and build a facility to make Louisville an autism research center. After she's tapped into Kentucky, she hopes to take Campaign 7 national.
