The Cisco Center, designed as a one-stop-intervention "shop" for children with autism and other developmental disabilities recently opened in Maryland. Founded by long-time speech and language pathologist, Cisco Nochera, the center focuses on speech and language therapy to increase social skills. Using play therapy and creative learning, such as learning to cook, children build confidence and learn real-world skills. Students from the nearby elementary school use a peer system to buddy 5th grade volunteers with Cisco students.
