Doctors and Nurses in Malaysia are being Trained to Recognize Autism

A pilot project has been initiated in Malaysia training doctors and nurses to recognize autism in children so that early intervention may begin. A checklist is provided by the healthcare professionals to parents in order to determine whether their child may have symptoms of autism. Children can begin early intervention activities such as speech therapy.
