Extraordinary Ventures Puts Ordinary into the Life of Teens with Autism

Extraordinary Ventures (EV) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina operates on a number of levels for teens and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. EV is a hang-out that provides job training and social skills, a rental space for other community groups who often hire EV's clients, and a place where disabilities are accommodated. Marc Roth who founded the center, says, "I've always wanted to have a facility that would provide a recreation space, social space, job training, but also be a hub for the community." Training skills range from learning to cook to using a computer to following a visual schedule for a less verbal teen. EV really hops on Friday nights with pizza and karaoke.
