Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) in New Jersey has provided support to many family and friends of children with autism. The Lytle's son Aidan received early intervention, but they credit POAC and their recommended program of Verbal Behavior Approach to Applied Behavior Analysis therapy (ABA) for Aidan's progress. The Lytles believe that the POAC program is "geared more toward improving the child's current situation than seeking causes or cures." The group also presents workshops and training for parents and professionals in the community including the police force. In addition, there are family events that involve siblings in such events as bowling, movies, and picnics.
