Families Cheer as Autism Bill Passes

The Senate and the House passed the Combating Autism Act; this bill authorizes almost$1 billion over five years for research and early intervention. The Senate had passed legislation in August; however, revisions proposed by the House Energy and Commerce Committee, increased funding and eliminated a provision which would have required the involvement of the National Institutes of Health.
