Family Enlists a "Village" to Help Their Son with Autism

When the Tuminos of Redding, CA discovered their son had autism, they got on the Internet for information and enlisted the help of friends and family. Early intervention for Domenic included speech and occupational therapy. In addition, the Lourie Tumino attended a weeklong training at the Son-Rise Program in MA. Upon her return, family and friends help with one-on-one play time. Lowe's home improvement store provided lumber for a specially designed playroom
for Domenic. Lourie has started a Web site to track Domenic's progress and his therapies.
