Aprile Mickys has been cutting children's hair for over 20 years, and specializes in special needs children. Haircuts for Peanuts in Rochester, New York, has always been a fun place for children (and even their older sisters), complete with a circus-theme and lots of toys. All of the stylists have been trained by speech and occupational therapists to work with children with autism and other special needs. Each of the hair cutting stations have toys especially for special needs children and the stylists have learned techniques to calm children who might be anxious. ""We wanted to create a place where all kids could go because I noticed there wasn't a lot of places catering to kids who might have autism or who might be fidgety," said Mickys.
