Hearts Abroad, based in Colorado, was founded by the parents of a child with autism. Based on their success with early interventions, picture exchange communication system (PECS), and therapies that could be used at home, they decided to share their resources with less-developed communities. Hearts Abroad will sponsor an autism workshop in Cozumel, Mexico, a location where teachers, social workers, and parents expressed a need for information and treatments.
