Monica "Monette" Rosario-Agbulos, a member of the Cagayan de Oro Horsemen and a top horse trainer in the Philippines, dreams of creating a hippotherapy program in Cagayan de Oro for children with autism. Hippotherapy or therapeutic horseback riding uses the movement of the horse as physical therapy to help the rider learn balance and flexibility. When children ride horses, they also seem to increase their communication skills and self esteem. The town's mayor has pledged some land for use as a stables.
