Piscataway Regional Day School in New Jersey, serves children with autism and other disabilities between the ages of 11 and 21. Julie Sakowicz, a therapist at the school, suggests that she and her colleagues teach as much by instinct and tuition as they do by the books. While their "bag of tricks" includes therapy aids to increase speech, touch, social interaction, and pre-vocational training, the therapists work with each child individually to help them reach their fullest potential.
