Emily Oster and Taylor Baxter, St. Louis fifth graders, were tired of seeing their friend with autism being bullied. Oster and Baxter decided to create a year-long curriculum on autism awareness. The Road to Embrace Autism with Care and Heart (REACH) focuses on elementary schools and is designed to help autism awareness and reduce bullying of kids who are different. For this they were awarded the 2012 Education Impact Award. You can read about Taylor and Emily and their classmate Kevin on the REACH Web site.
