Malaysian Care Offers Early Intervention for Children with Autism

Malaysian Care offers a School Age Programme (SAP) early intervention service for children with autism. Spices, a school in Kuala Lumpur, has used SAP for four years. Teachers work with each student to develop an IEP based on the child's needs. Intervention includes use of a multimedia Smart Board - a large interactive touch screen that runs educational software. The children, ages 6-11, also use visual schedules to keep track of their activities and therapies. In addition, each child receives one-on-one attention when learning new concepts.
