Connecticut mom, Grace Ann Baresich, was living in Switzerland when her son was diagnosed with autism. The family made the move back to the US so that Alec could have access to therapy. She realized through her own experience, the difficulty, but the rewards of travelling with a child with autism. About a year ago, Baresich started autistictraveler.com to give advice to parents who want to travel with their children. She reads and responds to questions such as, “How can I take my child to Disney Land?” Her biggest piece of advice is that parents have an exit strategy and a quiet place to go to.
