New Jersey Schools Share Autism Grants of $15 Million

Ten North Jersey schools received a portion of of $15 million in grant money to expand treatment programs for autism. This money was released by the State in response to a federal study citing that New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the country.

This money will "pay for new teachers and aides, special physical-education activities to help children with sensory disorders, cutting edge technology to assist students' communication and training for school staffs to better understand and serve autistic students."
