Occupational Therapists Teach Daily Living Skills to Children with Autism

Roxanne Ank is one of six occupational therapists (OT) scattered among a number of the 23 schools in Craven County, NC. She and the other OTs work to develop communication and daily living skills with children with autism. They use pictures to help non-verbal children, sensory rooms to assist children who might be upset, and one-on-one training to make children more adept in mainstreamed situations.
