Research Center Focuses on Nature and Management of Autism

The Kansas Center for Autism Research (K-CART) is an initiative joining more than 40 faculty members from the University of Kansas and the KU Medical Center. The focus of research and psychology will be on the nature and management of autism rather than the cause(s). The goal of the program is early intervention - to identify the disorder in children between 12 and 18 months. At the same time, K-CART will "disseminate information to practitioners, educators and parents in the state and region."
