Sensory Pathways Uses Play Therapy for Children with Autism

Sensory Pathways founder and occupational therapist, Lorri Malagarie, believes that play therapy can "organize and desensitize the nervous system." The 3,000 square foot Louisiana gym is full of trampolines, swings, balls, and slides to help children have fun while losing their fear of movement. Sensory Pathways uses a 3-step plan to help children with autism and other developmental disorders: 1) watch the child play; 2) decide which play item will best motivate the child; and 3) get parent input.
