Service Dog Helps Boy with Autism

Seven year old Reece Trahan received Pudge, a service dog trained to work with autistic children, after a 2 1/2 year wait. The black Labrador is from National Service Dogs (NSD) of Kitchener, Ontario. NSD is one of the few providers of dogs trained to work with children with autism. "Service dogs make autistic children safer, can help them interact socially and can reduce some parental stress if families go into the relationship with realistic expectations."
