Special Education Cooperative Provides Therapies for Military Kids

The formation of the Leavenworth County Special Education Cooperative (LCSEC) will include children with autism and other developmental issues whose parents are stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. The Ft. Leavenworth school district is one of six in the area participating in LCSEC. Services provided to the students include early intervention, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. If a particular intervention is not available at a specific school, the Board of Education will transport children to the cooperative.
