The Menlo Park, CA, school district has created a special needs preschool for the children with autism and other developmental disabilities who require early education. The goal is to be able to mainstream many of the children when they reach kindergarten age. The preschool provides physical, occupational, and speech therapies along with one-on-one interventions. One area in the school is dedicated to physical activities as well as calming therapies, while the other area concentrates on speech and cognitive therapies.
