Arizona State University (ASU), not unlike other colleges, supports a population of young adults with Asperger's Syndrome. The students, when interviewed, spoke of the benefits of their syndrome - persistence, loyalty, and tenacity - while also admitting to loneliness from lack of social skills. ASU's Disability Resource Center, along with family support, helps students work through scholastic issues. "To deal with AS and the social anxiety it entails, one student has worked with Tai Chi, a Chinese form of meditation. Ultimately, he says he came to terms with his capabilities. 'You have to accept what you can and can't do.' I can't take on the world."
