In Australia, the State of Tasmania will use an autism assessment team to conduct evaluations on children who may have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The team, which includes a psychologist and speech pathologist, hopes to assess 150 children each year. The children, once diagnosed, will be eligible for early intervention therapies.
