Teaching Teachers About Autism Therapies

The Autism Institute at Gwynedd-Mercy College (in Pennsylvania) is offering workshops to teachers to train them to better assist children with autism. Many of the teachers are skilled in early childhood education, but lack specific special education skills. More and more teachers are seeing autistic children in their classrooms and want them "to be able to get the most out of their educational experience." The teachers, mainly preschool, are being trained to help children with social interaction, play therapy, and communication skills.
