Texas and Horses Work Together to Help Kids with Autism

The Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center in Lubbock, TX, has used hippotherapy since 1998 to provide cognitive, physical, and speech therapies for children with autism. Sometimes referred to as therapeutic horseback riding, hippotherapy integrates a horse's movement with the child's to simulate the human walk. "Hippotherapy can improve a person's balance, posture, mobility and operational abilities."
