The Charles Hulme Community Therapy Pool, in Escondido, CA, is one of few public pools in the area that is equipped for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. To raise money, the pool sponsors giant rubber duck races in which all kids and their parents are included. Instructors at the pool say that swim therapy allows children to claim a sport as their own, and provides social interaction with other kids and adults.
