Thomas the Tank Engine, along with Bob the Builder, are favorite toys of children with autism. The U.K. National Autistic Society surveyed parents and found that their children "learned a lot about colours, numbers and language and speech from the characters." In addition, the parents said that the clear facial expression on the toy engaged their children.
