Calvin Wilson talked a lot about his son with autism to his boss, Jeff Smith. Smith, owner of Smith Concrete in Poca, WV, decided that others in the company and in the community needed to be aware of autism. He ordered large blue puzzle piece logos for three of his concrete trucks. Now employees can explain to anyone who asks about autism. The company has since decided to raise awareness about cancer and veterans, with type 1 diabetes to follow. Two employees said, “The community has noticed the trucks, and we’ve received calls from people who just want to say thank you.”
