Tyler Bartlett, a child with autism, in Bolwarra, has increased coping skills, thanks, his mother says to sensory integration therapy and supplements. She wants to help other parents and raise awareness of various therapies and is sponsoring an informational evening with speakers who include an occupational therapist and special education teacher.


Stepping Stones Therapy Center in MA uses play therapy and exploration so that children with autism can learn new ways of interaction. Therapy sessions range from sign language to cooking, music to drama, and handwriting to exercise.

Project HELP (Help Educate Little People) in TN, has provided early intervention and support to children with autism since 1983. The teachers and therapists provide the children with physical and occupational therapy and work with them individually on practical skills.


The Ozark Center, in Joplin, MO, will open a preschool in October for children with autism. This will be one of the few schools in the country to provide intensive therapy with one teacher for each student.
