Are your skin care products harming your child? Are you using the healthiest skin care products possible?

Many skin care products contain gluten, mineral oil, animal by-products, dyes and chemical fragrances which could be harmful to your child. I have shared the following concerns with many autism doctors and they all agreed this is logical advice.

Gluten is in skin care products like lotions, soaps, chapstick, make-up etc. It also hides under various names like "tricitum vulgare." If you apply gluten to the skin it will get into your child's system and absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, if you are just gluten-free in diet it may not be enough.

Mineral oil is petroleum refined 14 times and is a cheap filler in skin care products. It coats your skin with an invisible layer. If you are trying to detox your child, this invisible layer could impede the process, as the skin is the largest organ aiding detoxification. To see this for yourself put a cracker in baby oil (mineral oil and fragrance) and let it sit a few minutes. Soon it will be sealed with the oil and it will not dissolve. Futhermore, rubbing petroleum (as used in running your vehicle) on a child you are trying to detox doesn't seem prudent.

Chemical dyes are also common in personal products. I have heard two stories of kids having meltdowns every time they wash their hands. The suspect was the "dye" in the soap. The parents removed the soap and the hand-washing melt-downs stopped.

It seems wise to respect the fact that your child's skin is his largest organ and therefore to use the healthiest skincare products available. Where can you find them you ask? At www.SharonWayner.MyArbonne.com. There you will find a complete list of all our GF products. (Arbonne is not a gluten-free company, but we have many gluten-free products.)

In addition all of our products are:
-botanically-based
-pH correct for maximum skin benefit
-certified-vegan (no animal products or by-products)
- no mineral oil
- no dyes
- hypoallergenic
- dermatologist tested
- without chemical fragrances*.

I represented Arbonne International at Autism-One this year and have a history of involvement within the autism community. For more info on my background check out my website.

I'd recommend the following as basic products:

- Intelligence Body Lotion & Hand Cream (dry skin, or sensory therapy) $6 Bonus Product
- Intelligence Cleansing Gel (washing hands and bathing) $6 Bonus Product

- Aromatherapy Unwind Bath Salts & Massage Oil for calming before bed

-Kid's Hybrid vitamins Powder Punch- A multi-vitamin, multi-mineral and wholefood supplement, no artifical colors, flavors or sweetners. Mix with water, juice, and/or freeze as a popsicle.

Contact me via my website (or 616-928-2254 EST) for wholesale price options, you will be amazed how Arbonne makes gluten-free very affordable.

Also I'd love to hear your results from using Arbonne's products with your children please keep me informed. Contact me if you have any questions, all my contact info is available on my website

*From time to time Arbonne will incorporate a fragrance in their speciality products. These fragrances will be tested for consumer safety and will be clearly marked on the ingredient labels.
