In the future, playful robots will be able to teach children with autism how to perform simple tasks.

This paper describes the robot Robota and how it is designed to help children with autism. Robota looks like a doll and is part of a trend toward making toys that can teach children. Robota looks playful and fun so that children think that they are playing with a toy. The robot is able to "€see" the child and teach the child do repeat actions. Early reports of children using Robota have been good.
