Layperson Summary:

The Internet is a good place to go for support and treatment advice for Asperger's Syndrome.

This paper describes the way people "talk" to each other about Asperger's Syndrome on the Internet. The author found that many people look to the Internet for information about Asperger's Syndrome. People who read and write on forums receive priceless emotional support. Thus, message boards are a great way to create community even if some of the treatment advice is not completely correct. In most cases, the message boards will debate doctor treatment advice and suggest that members get a second opinion from another doctor.
