This article reports that very high doses of vitamin B6 can result in damage to the nervous system.
The authors of this report are concerned that people who are taking high doses of vitamins may be unaware of the risks associated with them. They focus their attention on seven adults (20-43 years old) who developed nerve problems after taking vitamin B6 at very high daily doses ranging from 2-6 grams for 4-40 months. These problems included difficulty walking and leg numbness. These adverse effects disappeared several months after the patients stopped taking vitamin B6.
