Layperson Summary:

Social Story therapy may be able to help children with severe autism.

This study looked to see if Social Story intervention was able to stop a child with autism from tapping. The study had only one child, aged 8 years old with severe autism. The study was not controlled. The teacher pointed to the Social Story in order to remind the child not to tap. The child did not have good language skills so it was hard to know if he really understood the story.
