This article describes a therapy program designed to bring surfing to children with autism.
Surfer's Healing is a not-for-profit that offers free one-day camps to the families of people (children and adults) with autism. Surfer's Healing was started by a family that found that their child with autism was much calmer when in the ocean surfing with his father. Their son is now 16 and helps the children in the camp. They offered the first day camp in 2000 and since then they have taught over 5,000 children. They are looking for funding in order to offer the camp to more children.
