Layperson Summary:

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy works best if plans and rewards are unique to each child.

This study was designed to see what type of ABA treatment works best for preschool-aged children. The study looked to see the best way to use ABA to teach “normal” children good social behavior during school. Each child had a unique learning style. Most children did best if they were given a reward for good behavior. It was harder to teach children by giving them a reward for stopping bad behavior.
