People with autism and severe behavioral problems may also have personality disorders, and may benefit from group homes.

The researchers interviewed 120 behavioral therapists, psychiatrists, and inpatient-care providers. The professionals think that behavioral therapy such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) may not work well for patients who have both autism and personality disorders. These patients may do better in a group home than people who have only one of the disorders.
