Janet de Witt, a kinesiologist and brain gym consultant, helps New Zealand youngsters with Asperger's and other developmental delays. She also integrates her body/brain balance therapies with physical therapy and nutritional therapy. Kinesiology is "a multi-disciplined holistic approach to health, well-being, learning and performance." This treatment of muscles, balance, and sensory integration was developed by George Goodheart. Brain gym consists of 26 different movements to help with learning. Brain gym was was developed by Paul Dennison. Janet's goal as a therapist is to take the abilities a child has and bring them to full potential.

A mom and a therapist in Malaysia find that one size fits all autism therapy doesn't work. Lim Ang Nei is the mom of a child with autism who has found through experience that it's a combination of therapies that help to treat her child. Her son is helped with brain gym, applied behavior analysis (ABA), picture exchange communication system (PECS), and even drinking enough water. She has become certified in brain gym and has opened the Faith Inspired School House (FISH) program. Mary Anne Joseph is a 20-year therapist who uses physical therapy like horseback riding and swimming to help children with autism. She believes "that when the child is primed - by addressing sensory, health and other problems - only then is he ready for learning."

Music therapy is only one of many "alternative" therapies finding a home in India for children with autism.
