Although this site appears relatively simple, it can do many things. Just remember that at any point throughout the site, if you would like to return to the Home page, click the Healing Thresholds icon at the top of the page.
If you would like to use this site merely as a source of information, you can read the fact sheets (Therapies) and the research (lay) summaries (Scientific Evidence). Note that each fact sheet is fully referenced to the research summaries. If you click on a reference at the bottom of the fact sheet, you will be taken to the lay summary of that scientific article. From there you can go to the scientific abstract of the paper as published on the Web site of the National Library of Medicine.
You may also use HealingThresholds.com as a means to stay up-to-date on scientific news coverage in the area of autism therapies. To do this you can regularly check back to the site, sign up for our free weekly Autism eBrief, or you can sign up for a feed. The feed will regularly deliver any new content that you specify directly to your feed reader.
You may read through the blogs and Collective Wisdom wiki in the Community Center to get parental perspective on therapies. You can pull up a profile of the blogger to read about that contributor's background and perhaps determine if the blog will be useful to you.
This site also allows you to post questions. If you have any questions about autism therapies, feel free to post them on the forum . Then check back in the next day or so. A member of the community should have answered your question by then. You may also contribute any thoughts you may have on different therapies to the wiki. You will find that it is quite simple to post your sites on an existing page or to create a new page.
You may register with HealingThresholds.com to become a member of the Healing Thresholds community. If you are a member, then you may have your own blog on the site. You can use this as a place to record therapy information for your child and to document your journey with your child. As a registered member of Healing Thresholds, you will also have access to other members who are logged on at the same time that you are. Once logged in, a list of online community members will appear on the bottom right of your screen. By clicking a member name, you will be able to see the member's profile and you will have the option of sending the member a personal message. You will receive notification of any incoming messages on the top right of your screen.
